Consultation has concluded

Last summer’s floods caused significant erosion along the lower Waitaki River, and we’ve heard your concerns about the damage.

In late July, at a public meeting the majority of the landowners made it clear they would like the erosion repairs (estimated at about $1 million) to proceed, and felt Meridian Energy should pay for them. Meridian Energy has confirmed its commitment to contributing 40% of rating district costs as agreed under the current funding model, but no additional funds.

We need your feedback to develop a solution that best represents the interests of all landowners in the lower Waitaki area.
