Why did we set up Te Kōrari?

We always try to find better ways of engaging with our community. Establishing a People’s Panel was identified as a possible opportunity for improvement, and our Councillors made it one of their commitments in the Long-Term Plan 2021-31.

It's important to know that Te Kōrari surveys will not replace our formal consultations and we won’t be using the information we get from the surveys to make important decisions. With Te Kōrari, we may ask for feedback ahead of formal consultations to help build our understanding and increase the relevance of our engagements.

The People’s Panel is only one way we engage with our communities. For complex or commercially sensitive issues, or for topics or issues that legally require us to consult with the community, we will continue using existing engagement methods. You can stay informed about opportunities to have your say by signing up to this site, without needing to sign up to Te Kōrari.
