Waitaha Action to Impact Fund 2024

The Waitaha Action to Impact Fund is a contestable fund to support community organisations to deliver projects that align with our work and priorities through community engagement and action. It's now in its fourth year and during this time, has contributed more than $1.1M to community groups to deliver tangible outcomes for our environment.

The fund aims to build community engagement and action for a better environment in the region. Funding has been given out to a range of community organisations for the past three years. To see more about what the fund has provided for previously, see our website.

For the 2024/25 year, the fund has $300,000 available and we are once again taking multi-year applications for between $5,000 and $30,000 per year for three years. Applications for one year were also welcome.

Criteria

Projects must align with one or more of our priorities.

Moving away from a portfolio approach, this year our work fits into three core services - Environmental Regulation and Protection, Community Preparedness and Response to Hazards and Public Transport.

Our priorities are set out in our Long-Term Plan 2024-34. Our vision, long-term aspirations and strategic priorities include:

  • Taking decisive action for healthy fresh water, land, coastal ecosystems and air quality
  • Fostering relationships to underpin regional leadership for our communities
  • Promoting sustainable and healthy living and working environments
  • Helping communities respond and adapt to climate change

The funding round was open for applications from Monday 8 July until 12 noon on Monday 2 September 2024. This fund is not open to individuals, businesses, educational institutions, or government agencies.
