TheWaitahaAction to Impact Fund's 2023 round has closed. Applications opened on Monday 24 July and closed at 12 noon, Monday 18 September 2023.
The Waitaha Action to Impact Fund is a contestable fund for community organisations in Canterbury. The fund aims to build community engagement and action for a better environment in the region.
Year three of the fund
This is year three of our three-year planning and funding cycle. In response to requests from community groups, we have allowed for multi-year allocations in the last two funding rounds, meaning that around half of this year's funding is already allocated to a variety of exciting projects across Waitaha.
In year one, 2021/2022, we allocated $200,000 which was the amount budgeted for that year. Councillors agreed to a one-off increase in funding available for year two, 2022/23, meaning that we had $600,000 available last year.
What's available this year
For year three, 2023/24, we have $182,000 available for new applications. The criteria and assessment process is the same as last year. However, we will not be accepting applications for multi-year funding in 2023/24. If you are seeking funding for a longer term, larger scale project, consider holding your application until next year, when we anticipate being able to consider multi-year funding once again.
