Orari-Temuka-Opihi-Pareora Water Zone Committee Draft Zone Implementation Plan Addendum

Consultation has concluded

Feedback closed on 10 October 2018.

For the past few years the Orari-Temuka-Opihi-Pareora (OTOP) Water Zone Committee has been working with the community to develop recommendations on how to improve local water quality and reliability as part of the Healthy Catchments Project.

These have been formed into a draft Zone Implementation Plan Addendum, known as the ZIPA.

The community were asked to provide feedback on this earlier in the year, and the committee appreciate the large amount of feedback received so far, much of which has now been incorporated into the draft ZIPA.

How you can play your part

The committee sought feedback on two updated sections of freshwater recommendations. The recommendations include:

  • draft flow and allocation regimes for the Opihi and Temuka catchments
  • and draft nutrient management regimes for areas of high nutrient concentration

The recommendations are available here and hard copies are available from the Environment Canterbury, 75 Church Street, Timaru. They can also be found on the right under "Important documents".
